SUNSHINE COAST BC

SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM

Artists & Participation

The Sunshine Coast BC Sculpture Symposium invites artists to join us for our inaugural year of creating public art in collaboration with the community.

For this first edition, we are focusing on chainsaw carving artists. Selected sculptors will be provided with accommodation and meals during the event, ensuring a comfortable and productive experience. Space is limited, so early applications are encouraged. Artists can apply via our Artist Application Form.

In addition to carving, we are exploring opportunities for other artistic contributions such as talks, workshops, or visual demonstrations. Painters, sculptors, and creative professionals with ideas to share are welcome to get in touch. While we may not be able to accommodate everyone, there could be opportunities to participate in a supporting role or lead interactive sessions during the symposium.

Our goal is to create a diverse and inspiring creative environment that brings together artists, volunteers, and the Sunshine Coast community to make lasting public artworks and memorable experiences.

Why the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast BC provides an extraordinary setting for the inaugural Sculpture Symposium, where artists and community come together to shape the landscape with public art. Its lush forests, rugged coastline, and vibrant communities inspire creativity, making this first-year event a truly unique and memorable experience.

Over the course of the symposium, the natural environment will become a living canvas, with sculptures, workshops, and interactive experiences inviting residents and visitors to observe, explore, and engage with the artistic process. As the very first edition of this event, it offers a rare opportunity to witness the birth of a creative tradition that will grow and evolve for years to come.

By celebrating both community and nature, the Sunshine Coast Sculpture Symposium promises to leave a lasting impression of creativity, collaboration, and inspiration for everyone involved.

Get Involved

The Sunshine Coast BC Sculpture Symposium is made possible by the energy and creativity of the community. Volunteers play a vital role in bringing this inaugural event to life — from assisting artists on-site, helping with workshops, to welcoming visitors and sharing the experience.

Whether you’re passionate about art, nature, or community engagement, there’s a place for you to contribute. Join us in making the first-year symposium an unforgettable celebration of creativity and collaboration.
